Work-Study Program
If you are interested in making macrobiotics
a part of your daily life then you are welcome to join our work-study
program. The minimum participation period is three months, and longer
stays of up to a year or more are possible.
By living and working together with our household you will be able to
put what you learn about macrobiotic theory into immediate practice. The
program will keep you busy 5 days a week: you will help in the production
of our food, in the shop, on the market and at home, including with normal
household activities such as dishwashing, laundry and cleaning.
As a Participant of our work-study program you will be able to attend
all the cooking classes and lectures we organize in our house for free
and you may request that special lectures (about specific topics you are

to face life’s challenges.
We provide a place to sleep in our house, three fresh macrobiotic meals
per day and enough pocket money to enjoy your free time. We ask that you
become part of the family: that you work, study and share food with us;
that you are open and helpful to others, and that you share your dreams,
ideas and energy.
For all people not living in the European Union, please check which documents
you need to come to the Netherlands. You will find information at www.ind.nl.
If necessary, we can help you obtain the right papers.
The Netherlands is easy to reach by car, bus, train or airplane. We can
collect you by car from Schiphol airport or from Amsterdam by car when
possible. Otherwise, you can travel to Alkmaar by train (45 minutes from
Schiphol and 30 minutes from Amsterdam central station). All participants
must arrange their own travel to and from the Netherlands.
